Hi, my name is Rob Hayton. After spending 9 ½ years working for Mitsubishi Electric Europe BV in Hatfield, I spent a year out, travelling overseas before returning to work for T- Mobile in October 1999. After 1 ½ years, and some serious thought, I decided that I would like to work for myself as a Driving Instructor, and to that end I trained with and worked for two years with John Baker’s well-established ‘Warden Hill School Of Motoring’, based in Luton.

Then in July 2003, I joined Osborn’s School of Motoring, where I have enjoyed a happy and successful working relationship with Colin and Noreen Osborn, training members of the public to become fully-qualified driving instructors (as well as the usual ‘bread and butter‘ of teaching learners), and thus assisting in helping this very successful school to expand, and become the top multi-car school in the district. However, after nearly five years, I decided it was time to set up my own school, and so was born ‘Heronswood Driving Tuition’ in 2008.

It is important to remember that learning to drive throws up different challenges for each individual pupil. Some pupils will find things more difficult than others, and of course others will take to driving like the proverbial ‘duck to water’. To this end, we all want to achieve that coveted test pass in as few hours as possible, and in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. This will make the learning experience both interesting and mutually rewarding.

I will make myself available to give lessons Sunday & Monday between the hours of 9.15am and 6.45pm, Tuesday to Thursday (inclusive) between 9:15am and 7:45pm. All lessons are subject to diary availability. There are NO LESSONS on Friday or Saturday, except by prior arrangement only.
